Serrania is a “School for Advanced Studies” and offers both an SAS program that begins in 3rd grade, as well as the Common Core curriculum for students Kindergarten through 5th grade.
The campus opens in the morning with general supervision starting at 7:40 am and the after school supervision program ends at 6:00 pm. In addition to the LAUSD sponsored after school supervision, we also offer an enriched after school program through “E3″ and a number of rotating after school classes which may include Homework Club, Art, Math, Movies By Kids, Fitness and Cheer, Singing, Theater, Hebrew, Martial Arts & Spanish.
Our main fundraising body is known as Friends of Serrania (FOS), a 501c(3) registered charitable organization. The FOS fundraising efforts have brought in more than $100k/year. Each year, parents and faculty meet together to allocate the funds for programs such as Art, PE Coaches, Computer and Science Labs, Teachers’ aides, our Accelerated Reader Program, technology upgrades, school maintenance and many other valuable programs which our children benefit.
